The Collection

The Large and Small...

History is history to the Amarillo Historical Museum and all of it is important. Our museum captures the large events of our town such as Amarillo producing an Olympian and the fire at Amarillo High School to the small events such as the opening of the first Orange Julius in Amarillo or a walk-off home run at an Amarillo Dillas game on a hot summer night in 2010. The point is, we care about all history and hope you will join us to see the real history behind the Texas Panhandle's largest town.

Among our collection:

- The Entire Archives of the National Wrestling Alliance Amarillo promotion

- The first railroad rail laid in Amarillo

- The largest political memorabilia collection in the Texas Panhandle

- Autographs from local celebrities like Dennis Stamp

- An extensive book collection detailing the history of the Panhandle

- A Civil War era firearms collection

- Archives from the Confederate Veterans Convention in Amarillo

- An extensive newspaper collection of The Amarillo Globe News

- And so much more...
